SLJ Setting sail

Kia ora, Today is the first day of summer learning journey I am
really excited. This activity is about how the polynesians
navigated and what they used. I have learnt that the
polynesian navigators used the sun, moon, stars, planets,
the ocean currents and clouds. They used these to guide their
way through the ocean they also used them to find land.
For this activity we also had to list 10 food items we would
take with us on a waka hourua (Double held canoe)

Here are my 10 food items and why I would take them.

  1. Hi Mihi. It's Taleisha.

Great job on completing your first activity for the SLJ. How have your holidays been so far?

A great selection of food you have chosen Mihi. Alot of healthy choices :) I also like your explanation for why you chose your foods. I would find it a bit hard (actual really hard) to choose only 10 foods. There are so many choices.

I hope to see more great work during these 4 weeks of SLJ :)

  2. Hi Mihipeka my name is Mahuta and I attend Kawakawa primary school. I like the activity you chose because this shows a bit of your personality and what foods you like. I would pack up on food I wouldn't just chose 10 but its for the activity so yea.Would you stack up on food? Did you know that you had 11 things not 10? But I'm sure you will see it. Other than that great blog.
    Blog you later:)

    1. Kia Ora Mahuta I really appreciate you commenting on my blog. Yes I am aware that I did 11 things instead of 10. I did that because I wasn't sure if water was a food item so I added it in as my 11th item so people know that I would take water on to the boat:)
