My pepeha

In Te Maunga (my class) we have been learning our Pepeha. We have a pepeha to let people know where we come from such as: our Maunga (mountain), Awa (river), Waka (canoe), Iwi (tribe), Hapu (sub-tribe), Marae (meeting house), Kura (school), parents and siblings as well as my name.

This is my example:

Ko Pouerua Taku Maunga
Ko Waitangi Taku Awa
Ko Ngatokimatawhaorua taku Waka
Ko Ngapuhi taku Iwi
Ko Ngati Kawa taku Hapu
Ko Oromahoe taku Marae
Ko Paihia taku Kura
Ko Maui Laws-Walker toku Papa
Ko Rehupo Kara toku Mama
Ko Ngauira toku Teina
Ko MIhipeka Maketu Laws-Walker ahau
No reira, Tena Koutou, Tena Koutou, Tena Koutou Katoa.
