Moment and time

In Te Ngahere we have been learning about descriptive writing. We had to put descriptive writing into our story called moment in time it was about Te Ngahere (the bush) . I think I could do better at adding In more descriptive words in my story and finish it.
Here is my writing.

                               Moment In Time
The green bushes with the deep blue sky and the sunlight bouncing off the
The Beautiful ferns, The smell of refreshing air, Unaware of any humans,
a deep cliff about to touch the cloak of the sky,
very interesting noises of bird like music to my ears,
leaves blowing across me, trying to find a path way.

Kaitiakitanga o te Moana

In Te Ngahere we have been learning to make connections between different things we viewed or read about Kaitiakitanga o te Moana and rahui. I enjoyed learning new things about rahui and kina barren. I enjoyed learning about rahui because I had no knowledge about it and I learnt that the pou is a carved wooden post. It is a signal to tell you not to go there for fishing or diving for sea food because there is a rahui in Matai Bay and they want to save the fish. We had a choice to share our learning about Kaitiakitanga o te Moana. I chose google slides.I think I need to work on finding more information and collaborate with my group.

passion project

In Te Ngahere, well year 6’s, have been creating passion projects. Passion projects are things we are passionate about like Tia and I are passionate about rockets flying and how it works. We then experimented what rockets can actually do. The next week we brought some ingredients each and we set off the rocket. The next week we did the same but with a different rocket. I am not going to tell you what happened so see for yourself!

Here is a presentation with some videos why we chose rocket science and What we could do better.

food chains

In Te Ngahere we have been learning about healthy ecosystems and food chains. I enjoyed making the animation about food chains. I think I could do better at putting more information in the food chain and also have no background sounds while I record. Hope you enjoy the animation.

poem's

In Te Ngahere we have been learning to use metaphors in our writing. Then we wrote metaphors about ourselves  we weren't allowed to add I or because . I think I could do better at putting good metaphors in my poem. I enjoyed describe my self. This is my first draft .
Mihipeka is a putakawa ,beautiful and bold.

Mihipeka is lots  of lollies, sweet and sour.

Mihipeka is eggs on toast, warm and slobby.

Mihipeka is a diamond, bright and big.

Mihipeka is rainbows end, going up and down around a round.

My Pepeha

In the last few weeks Te Ngahere we have been learning to say our pepeha. We also had to make a
visual pepeha. So I made a powtoon. A pepeha is saying who you are and where you come from,
We also had to add our whanau in our pepeha. I think I did a good job at pronouncing my pepeha.
The thing that I found most challenging is making the powtoon because I always forget to save it.
Hope you guys like my powtoon.

Camp

In Te Maunga we went to a camp on November the 27th morning. I was so excited because  we were going to Coopers Beach Youth Camp. There were heaps of things like the water slide, confidence course, slippery hockey and volleyball. There were also trampolines and a court with hoops. My favourite was the water slide because you can go super fast and have competitions with your friends. You could also get exercise from running up the hill. We also made a creation about our camp I made a pop up book with Anyah and Indie. Here is a video.
