Beach Education

In Te Maunga, my class, we have been learning about beach education which involves how to be safe in the water, these are some of the things we learnt:
  • how to save people when they are in trouble
  • how to look for rips
  • what to wear at the beach
  • what to do if your in a rip or in trouble
  • that you have to swim between the flags when lifeguards are around
As you'll see in my presentation i learnt all this stuff from the lifeguards.

In Te Maunga we did a poster we did it for a another school Named Horor school. and we sent each other a poster it had many questions on it and this is a pictures and we also did  metaphor cards.

Tryathlon

At Paihia-school we did our own school tryathlon. after we finshed we write a recout about it and this is my story.
On friday last week we did a school Tryathlon at the beach in paihia with paihia school. First Mrs Williams talked to us about what we're going to do and how do you do it.

Second the seniors walked down to the beach and we got ready to go swimming, running and biking. The year 8,7,6 went first and we had to wait for a while.

After them it was my years turn there were only three of as that were swimming the rest of them were waiting  for us to finish i was coming first but then lili-rose Zoomed pass me .
Then we ran i thought it wasn't fear for the swimmers because the other kids in my year they didn't need to swim.

But then I ran out of the ocean and I ran with my friend Tia. But then she dashed past me. I was coming last until I saw a boy that was in the girls race and I zoomed past him. Then I was up to the bike ride. But it wasn't fear because I was in a team but I didn't know if we were allowed so I ran. And I ran little bit with my little brother.

In the end we celebrated with ice-cream we had know idea that we could have ice-cream. That was fun I said to myself quietly because I felt like the wind
